Spring Trend to Watch: Yellow
In the dead of winter, it’s always smart to think bright. Colors can warm you from the outside in. Sometimes when New York Fashion Week kicks off in February, it’s really damn difficult to see into the summer and fall seasons when designers take the runway and bloggers take the streets. I know, I did it once before. It was frigid and kind of miserable. One thing that brightens my day? Color. This year, bright colors have dominated the streets. The gold medal goes to yellow.
Yellow will be the color for Spring 2019 . I’m not just saying that because I want it to be, but I’ve been doing a lot of research on the matter. Several publications, bloggers and designers have all handed down their seals of approval on this hue. Yellow takes on many personalities, but my favorites to play with right now are a golden yellow and a pale yellow. I like to pair them both with warm colors like camel, soft denim, and animal prints.
Yellow might seem like an intimidating color. It demands attend when you wear it. You have to be confident and cool or else the color will wear you. I’ll be creating a lot of outfit combinations with this color this season. Just this past week, I wore the color three times during Virginia’s roller coaster weather.
