White Skirt + Wine Stains

I don’t know what it is, but I think white is more popular than ever now that Labor Day has come and gone. White skirts, white jeans, white shoes, white bags, white blazers… this list goes on for what’s inspiring me in my closet. My friends and fellow bloggers are embracing the rebellion, too!

In fact, I’m even investing in new white pieces for fall. I checked out DressFo.com for some affordable ideas. This flowing white skirt called to me. I hope to wear it with sweaters as the temperatures drop and pair it with bright colors for days when I need a little pep in my step. I’ll wear it to work with lace-up flats and a blazer and out for drinks with heels and a pendant necklace like I did here.

Just as the fall temps call for layers like my jean jacket, it also calls for soul warming red wine. When you take winery trips this fall, keep your eyes peeled and your hands steady! You’ll find a way to get red wine on your white favorites. I splattered myself on the top and bottom the other night!

I’d like to turn my mistake into a learning opportunity for my sweet followers. Here are three fast steps to get red wine off your white skirt and keep hope alive no matter where you are.

  1. Dab stain with paper towels to absorb as much wine as possible
  2. Do not rub it!
  3. Get your hot water flowing or start a tea pot of hot water. Stretch the stained area over the sink or a bowl and then pour hot water right through it.
  4. Asses and repeat if needed!
