January 2015 Edition
My favorite Sephora lip gloss went on sale, my favorite Stella & Dot stylist had a sample sale, and I stumbled on some amazing pumps while shopping for my new apartment.
This is late, but I wanted to follow through on my commitment to share my fashion and beauty related purchases each month. I hope it will help you find some useful items for yourself, maybe even on sale. I also hope it will help me be more conscious of where I spend my money and how I want to use these purchases to live out the Sweet Sauce life of being true to myself, my wants, my needs, and my dreams.
My favorite lip gloss went on sale! I discovered this exact lip gloss on a trip to Miami last year. It is Sephora Collection Ultra Shine Lip Gloss in Color Me Pink. They are discontinuing many colors. Each one normally sells for $14 each, but many were on sale for $7. I had to go to the store to find my color. Go to the back to the sale bins! I bought three (all they had!) and one other color called Fuschia Mania. I think Shiney Pin-Up Pink will be my pick for the next round. A sales rep said I would also like Buxom lip glosses.
I love these lip glosses because they are aren’t too pigmented that I can’t put them on without a mirror, but they offer some real lasting shine and iridescence that makes my lips look fresh, supple, and like I tried. I got hooked on them after trying a friend’s Dior lip gloss and asked a Sephora representative for a cheaper alternative. Let me know what you think!
I also signed up for a Sephora Beauty Insider Card. More to come on that return on investment! It’s not a credit card, but more like a CVS or Kroger card that you just swipe when you buy and you get rewards back over time! It seems pretty low-key. And who doesn’t want a free gift on their birthday?
My friendly Stella & Dot representative gave me a heads up on a sample sale she was having for Stella & Dot swag she’d collected over time. She has used many of the pieces for trunk shows and advertising. Some were a little worn, but they are all gorgeous none the less and she sold them for almost half the cost. I had coveted the above Rory Necklace during a truck show I hosted last fall. It sells for $59 and I bought it for $29!
These Jocelyn Drop Earrings are gorgeous. They sell for $44 and I bought them for $25. I wore then out recently (sorry, no pictures!) and got so many compliments.
I dressed up a sweater at work with my Rory Necklace. Again, I was showered with compliments. You can thank my boyfriend for my having this selfie. Though I got these items on sale, they are still on the Stella & Dot website and are killer purchases. Everything I buy from Stella & Dot is worth my dollar bills. The items are high quality, on trend, and will last forever.
You saw these babies in my Valentine’s Day post. I found them at Ross for $25. Maybe you might like these Jessica Simpson Pumps. I have several pairs of Jessica Simpson shoes. They are all feminine, fit perfectly, and classic.
February is almost over and I’ll be sharing this month’s buys soon!
What was your favorite purchase this month?
