Wear it for Summer and Fall: Striped Shirt Dress
I almost swiped right past this striped shirt dress as I previewed the Zan.Style website. It didn’t take long for me to find my way back to it, though. I’ve had a growing void in my closet for office-appropriate dresses that I can actually stand. Since I went mostly freelance, I’ve shed my closet of stuffy work clothes and added in fun floral additions and other funky casual pieces. When a more formal agenda is on the calendar, I have been struggling to reach for outfits I haven’t already exhausted.
I’m glad the dress made its way to me for this collaboration with Zan.Style. The quality of the striped shirt dress was everything I hoped it would be. The fabric is thick enough that I don’t need a slip to wear it. It is loose enough to move effortlessly throughout the day and keeps me from being worried about my curves. The flare on the sleeve is not only feminine, but it’s practical by allowing the dress sleeves move around my elbows without notice. The length of the dress is just long enough to stay professional and also long enough to show off my stems. It’s a well rounded piece, if you ask me.
How I Wore it for Summer
Here, I paired the striped shirt dress with my favorite Nine West leather block heels I scored at the Williamsburg Premium Outlets. These babies are good for a day of romping around, as long as the ground is relatively flat. They’re incredibly comfortable and have been a fun boho addition to both work and play outfits. I added geometric hoop earrings for a sleek and mod vibe. I scored these at Fabrik in Carytown, which you know is a favorite (I also picked up a bunch of vacation outfits for a styling client that day!) The outfit was cool, simple, and put together. I didn’t need anything else but a pop of lip color to polish it off.
How I Plan to Wear it This Fall
This dress is going to go so many places with me. I picked up a pair of tall, cognac suede heeled boots during my shopping adventures in Harrisonburg. I’ll definitely be rocking this dress with them when the weather turns cooler. I’ll either pair it with any number of colored blazers for an office look or pull out my suede sleeveless trench coat for a more boho vibe. If it’s really cold, a long wool coat will make this a chic winter layering item. Heck, I may even wear it with jeans. I’d have to belt it so it’s shorter, though, like a tunic.
I could keep going! Shop the dress here. Zan.Style is currently running a promotion: Everyone who registers on the website will earn free shipping, a $100 coupon and 200 membership points. I have several more high quality pieces from the site, and I genuinely recommend checking it out for more great wardrobe staples.
