Taking Vintage Style to Street Style
Another day, another set of vintage style finds…
As you know, I recently had the opportunity to shop alongside Danny of Danny Foto at Clothes Mentor in Richmond, VA. We both discovered fun, colorful gems at the consignment store. From maxi dresses to pants with a pop, we couldn’t narrow down our choices and instead put together three looks for you. This is the third and final look of our series together.
As we perused the aisles at the consignment shop, we saw lots of current trends of J. Crew, Free People, and more. We were also drawn to a few out-of-the-ordinary vintage-inspired pieces. The pattern of my dress popped and caught my eye on the racks. It wasn’t until I tried on the dress that it’s full structure took shape. The structured shoulders, cap sleeves, and cinched waist felt vintage and flirty. The modern pattern contrasted the shape in a funky way.
Just like, Danny was first draw to this flowing blouse because of the wild pattern and the way it matched her hair. When she ducked into the dressing room and tried on this maxi dress with adjustable straps, she was quick to understand it needed a layer underneath. She expertly paired it with the bright fuchsia shirt she discovered earlier. I am always stunned by her creativity!
As I mentioned before, Clothes Mentor is well known for their selection of handbags. From Michael Kors to Kate Spade to vintage Coach–you can find a designer bag at 1/3 of the retail cost. This new Coach bag is my go-to daily cross body.
