Richmond Brunch Weekend Hits Richmond March 24-25
If there’s one thing we do really, really well in Richmond, it’s brunch. From the outfits, to the cocktails, to the culinary creations, we could probably win a brunch fist fight with sister cities around the country. Thankfully there’s a good reason to celebrate our prowess this spring. Richmond Brunch Weekend will take over the town for the third year in a row March 24-25. Here are a few of the facts to ensure you’re in the know and prepared to take on the weekend:
- Firstly, this is a partnership between the blog As Told Over Brunch and the Massey Alliance to benefit the VCU Massey Cancer Center. Each restaurant is donating 15% of its brunch proceeds directly to Massey Cancer Center. To date, the fundraiser has raised nearly $30,000 for local cancer research and treatment.
- This year, more than 40 restaurants are participating. I mean, how can you not get in on the action? Discover the full list of restaurants here.
- Make reservations through the restaurants’ websites or by phone to ensure you have a spot where you want to go. Know that not all restaurants take reservations.
- No tickets or vouchers are required.
- Many of the restaurants are also participating in the #MasseyMimosa where $1 from every mimosa goes to VCU Massey Cancer Center throughout March 2018. Why wait for the weekend?

What to Wear
Let’s keep things chill, shall we? Richmond Brunch Weekend will require something comfortable, forgiving, and chic. You’ll also want to consider wearing something that will layer well with this unpredictable weather. When I visited Mod & Soul last week, I discovered so many items that would effortlessly take you from a big brunch to a chill afternoon in Richmond. I narrowed down your outfit choices to a flirty sundress or a laid back jumpsuit. Both will easily transform with a jacket, scarf, or boots if the weather turns cold. I personally hope the sun stays shining for us all.
The Jumpsuit
Let’s kick things off with a jumpsuit. The silhouette of the Aida Jumpsuit is much more forgiving than I thought. For a 5′ 3″ curvy girl, it smoothed right over everything. I felt tall and totally comfortable. I wore it here with a lilac cross body bag just big enough for your phone, keys and lip gloss. Throw on a hat and you’re the chillest chick at the restaurant. Pop into the boutique on Broad Street to discover every piece of this outfit, right down to the choker.
Now for a Fun Dress
It’s time to start building up your sundress collection for the spring and summer. One step into Mod & Soul and you’ll know you’re in the right place. Patterns and textures range from silky florals, to boho polka dots, to crisp stripes. Off-the-shoulder silhouettes are still very much in as we enter into the warmer months. Don’t be afraid to add more to your closet. If the weather gives you chill, grab a jean jacket or cozy cardigan to make your dresses all-weather friendly.
