My Visit to Monkee’s of Fredericksburg
If you haven’t read about my visit to Fredericksburg, then you should. Visit the travel guide here. You’ll know I found some great shopping, food, and sweet dreams in this charming part of Virginia. One of my favorite visits of the entire trip was my morning visit to Monkee’s. This boutique is located right in the heart of all the fun in downtown Fredericksburg. I met with owner Catherine and her team to explore the store and see what was new. We could not have had more fun! I rifled through Free People, Kate Spade, Tory Burch and other unique and colorful finds. The quality here is everything to Catherine and she knows her customers well. She knew exactly what I was looking for and helped me find items I would fall in love with. I know they would do the same for you.
What I Took Home
I’ve been hunting for a legitimate rain coat. My dad would be glad to hear this. I lost my old faithful raincoat I found at a Goodwill during a music festival a year ago. Somehow I’ve survived by wearing hats and hoodies. I have actually tried on quite a few and either felt like I couldn’t wear them to a professional meeting or they weren’t quite durable enough. This Cia Milano raincoat really fit the bill. It was light weight, versatile, and fully functional. Monkee’s had a great selection of other outdoor toppers and workout gear. You see me wearing the new Kate Spade workout line below.
I also was drawn to the pattern of this Free People top from across the room. The fabric was soft, the structure was flattering, and it screamed spring. It was the first thing I put on in the dressing room and I knew I had to have it.
Monkee’s also carried a huge selection of affordable jewelry. This would be a great place to pop in for an extra sparkle before an event. I slipped on a dainty crystal and gold bracelet and decided I didn’t want to take it off. I’ve been wearing it ever since.
