The first time I learned about French Connection was in 2002. It was just before I embarked on a nerdy Eurotrip with a few classmates and an extravagant history teacher. That puts me in ninth grade.
I wanted so badly to check out the European brands I’d coveted my trendy friend wearing, including FC. When we had made in to Switzerland, where we were able to finally walk around and shop. I finally found the store near United Colors of Benetton. I picked up a t-shirt that said “FCUK.” Obviously I bought it (because, ninth grade) including a decadently soft sweater I still own today. I’ve drifted apart from the brand in my 20s. I was glad to reconnect with it as I build my fall wardrobe this year, which will have a very definite 70s vibe with a lot of structured accesories. Things are already looking good…
This beautifully crafted embroidered smock is both bohemian and luxurious. The boots are high quality, the perfect fit, rich in color, and easy to walk in. I wore them both out in Charleston last weekend with shorts, so the pieces obviously transition well between Spring and Fall. I look forward to layering both items with different colors, fabrics. and accessories this fall and many seasons afterwards.
