Happy Wednesday, Hump Day, and #WCW! Feeling the love today and for the past week during my many adventures.
It has been a while since I have posted something for you to read. I have been sitting on some exciting news the past week or so and now I finally have a moment to share it!
Shana from Little Corals nominated me for the Liebster Award! She has an adorable blog that you should check out and indulge in.
The award is basically by bloggers, for bloggers, and is aimed at encouraging connection and support within the blogging community. The rules:
- Link the person who nominated you. Check!
- Answer the questions given by the nominator. Next!
- Nominate 11 other bloggers who have less than 200 followers. Last!
- Create 11 questions for the nominees. Fun!
- Notify all nominees via social media/blogs. In process!
Q & A with Sweet Sauce
I started Sweet Sauce for a number of reasons. Firstly, I wanted to write more. I am a former journalist and have always felt compelled to put pen to paper or fingers to keys. Secondly, I wanted to connect people and make them smile. I think we have done a pretty good job here on Sweet Sauce so far by letting people know they look good, sharing funny stories, and cheering each other on. Finally, I wanted to get up on my web skills and this seemed like a great practice ground. Who knows where this road will take me! Glad you are here for the ride.
Do you have a mantra that you live by?
Oy vey. I have had many. One I repeat to my friends and that I often have to tell myself is “Do you.” Simple as that. We cannot be productive, kind, giving people of world if we aren’t answering our own needs and letting our own lights shine brightly first. You must speak your truth and do the things you love. You do the world no good when you hold yourself back.
What was your childhood ambition?
I wanted to travel the world with National Geographic or some similar publication saving animals and the environment with my wicked words. Today, I save kids and families in need instead here on my own turf. It ain’t a bad alternative. I also sort of save people from fashion catastrophes I suppose…
Tell me about your favorite teacher.
This one is hard. I have had many teachers see things in me and my mind that I didn’t know were there and I am so grateful for those moments of newly found confidence. I would have to say the teacher that always stuck with me was Mr. Buhrer, my 11th grade English teacher. He made sure I knew I was gifted and gave me the tools to push me into a great college where I met more amazing professors.
What’s your favorite hobby?
Getting dressed. Helping other people get dressed via advice. It’s like creating a new piece of art every day. Yoga and throwing parties come after this.
Can you describe the contents of your wallet?
Very basic: debit card, ID, building access card for work, Sephora Ultra Shine lipgloss, whatever coupons I need for the day, a few extra bobby pins, receipts from my recent splurges for my new apartment.
What is your greatest fear?
I’ve lost a lot in life and most of it very suddenly and tragically. I am always worried the bottom will fall out. But I know life is beautiful and there are opportunities to start anew every day. I am grateful for every second.
If you had to, which super villain would you be and why?
Elle Driver. Because Daryl Hannah. Because blonde. Because sexy nurse. Because eye patch. Because long legs and heels. Because sword fighting. And I think going up against Uma Thurman would be a great way to die.
Fishing for prawning?
I had to look this one up! Urban Dictionary tells me I like prawing. Winky wink.
What is the one thing about you that you absolutely cannot stand?
I have chronic eczema. It sucks. I committed in my New Year’s post to get to the bottom of it this year.
What do you hope the future holds for your blog?
I hope more people stop by to read. I hope more people contribute articles, especially those who don’t have the time or the know-how to host a blog themselves. I hope to become an outlet for guys and girls who have something to say about fashion, art, living, and more. I hope to have more time to dedicate to it and possibly earn (even just a small one) income from it.
My nominations (some of these are a little over 200!)
