Unseasonably warm weather has hit the South. All my environmental geeks out there are like, “We told ya so.” All my fashionista friends are like, “Who cares?! No pants!” My new pink hair is like, “What’s weather? I’m a sexy bubblegum princess!”
Enough with the nonsense. What’s the real lesson here? Layering is still a vital life skill this season. With temperatures plummeting and rising like my coworker’s hot flashes, you need to be prepared for it all. You should be able to look into your closet and drawers and see your staple pieces in at least five different ways. This is also a good rule when shopping. Investing in wearable neutrals is so important. Also, let’s get real and talk about gettin’ loose around the waist for the holidays. I am falling for anything with flow around the midsection. I will eat my cake and cookies, and cocktails, too, darnit!
Thank goodness I came across this new piece from Trunk Up. Yet again, the brand dazzled me with an incredibly flattering and versatile dress. Not to mention, It. Is. So. Soft.
I styled the dress two ways. Let’s take a look:
Look 1: Dress: c/o Trunk Up/ Vest: Custom fur vest by Sewwhat Nikki/ Boots: Fergie Similar
Look 2: Dress: c/o Trunk Up/ Necklace: FrillSeekers at the Shops at 5807 Similar/ Booties: c/o French Connection Bag: Vintage Coach from Addison Handmade & Vintage
As a treat, here are some photos of my hair before and after! What do you think? Want to make your Pinterest hair dreams come true? Reach out to Josh Cruz-Magee at Salon Vivace.
Love the first way you styled the dress. It reminds me that it’s still December and not spring with these temps!
