Thrift Files: Bloggers Take On New Goodwill Store in Virginia Beach
On July 13, we welcomed a new Goodwill store to the Central and Coastal Virginia Goodwill family. The new store is located at 2093 General Booth Boulevard, about 15 minutes from the Oceanfront. The day before the official opening, I invited three Hampton Roads bloggers to join me for a sneak preview of the store before it opened to the public. Deanna of Naturally Creole, Krystal of Frugal Finds, and Jonna of Naturally Glam and I descended upon the store for an hour of speed shopping and crazy blogger fun.
What We Found
The new store was stocked with shoes including tons of leather boots and killer heels. We were all drawn to the denim rack, which was full of jumpsuits, jean jackets, and high waisted jeans. There were signs of fall everywhere with great coats and blazers, scarves, sweaters, and more. Goodwill works hard to make it easy to shop, displaying items by color and category. It makes it so easy and inspiring to shop. I was trying hard not to get distracted by all the home goods. The home section was massive and I’ve got a few things on my wish list.
We didn’t have a lot of time to try on clothes during our first trip to the new Goodwill store. We each took an arm load into the dressing room and pulled together looks we thought were fun, fresh and easy to wear.
What We Picked Out
Deanna had these yellow pants in her arms early in the game. The hue totally inspired her. I loved the easy shape of the white shirt she picked out. I even love a little bit of her braw peeping through. Also, those clogs! Boho sexy babe heaven.
Krystal fell in love with this denim jacket. Literal heart eyes. Also, who doesn’t need a killer pair of crisp white dress pants? She ran to her car to find a pair of heels to wear with them. If you read this post, then you know I think heels are a necessity when wearing anything flared or wide legged.
Jonna looked like she was ready for pre-fall wear in this open front aztec cardigan. The midi dress was simple and could be dressed up or down with heels, boots, or booties. Her entire silhouette was slimming and chic.
Sweet Sauce was looking for some new skirts to add to my collection. I want some more professional options to wear during this hot southern summer. This orange skirt called to me because of the fabric. One of the employees pointed out this scarf and I was sold! It was something totally different for me to show you. Also, I couldn’t put this furry bag down. I felt called to my inner Cher. As if!
