“We are all mortal until the first kiss and the second glass of wine.”
As my friends and followers know, I have a bad habit of always saying, “Yes.” I will accept a glass of wine at just about any point in the day. I have the corks to prove it. That being said, I recently spent a month without alcohol. After a long summer of travel, weddings, concerts, and more, I decided I needed a reset mentally and physically and starting saying “yes” to alcohol alternatives. I found myself sleeping better, drinking more water, and telling fewer bad jokes. Totally worth it.
Toward the end of my month of sobriety, I discovered a new wine brand, Voga Italia. To celebrate my triumph, I indulged as any proper party girl/woman would and got creative. I took some inspiration from my time in Spain and created two simple cocktails to serve. I hope you’ll give them a try and serve them at your next get together or night in with your favorite person, you.
The quick and dirty:
Try mixing soda with your wine! It’s simple way to get a sangria like beverage. This was how the locals whipped up sangria cocktails quickly at restaurants and in hostels all over Spain.
Coke and Vino
Ingredients:
4 oz VOGA Merlot
3 oz. Coca-Cola
Lemon/lime (for garnish)
Directions:

Garnish with lemon or lime slices around the rim of the glass
Sparkling Peach Prosecco
Ingredients:
3 oz. Peach Nectarine Sparkling ICE
2 oz. VOGA Prosecco
Sliced lemon/lime/peaches or berries for garnish
Directions:
Pour VOGA Prosecco, then Peach Nectarine Sparkling ICE over ice
Garnish with sliced lemon, limes, peaches or berries
I wanted to also share some fall-friendly wine-inspired products with you. I recently received the Yves Saint Laurent perfume via Influenster. I was surprised how the warm and crisp scent appealed to me. I tend to lean towards fresh, floral notes. But this has coffee and vanilla bean notes that made me feel sweater sexy in dreary fall weather.
Revlon has a new lustrous lipstick line featuring a “Wine with Everything” shade and lip liner in “Wine.” The lipstick is not quite matte, but not as shiny as I expected and therefore perfect for fall! I’m really pumped about this new makeup upgrade.
How about a blanket scarf? I resurrected mine from ASOS, purchased last fall. Find one for yourself here, here, and here.
Cheers, ya’ll!
Thank you to Voga Italia for sending me these treats and cocktail ideas!
What do you think? Wine and soda sound yummy to you? Think you’ll try it soon?
