For those of us not blessed with perfect vision, we must find a way to see the world better, preferably without looking ridiculous. Contacts are a wonderful invention, but they can’t be worn all the time. Some of us can’t wear them at all. Did you know that serious eye infections that can lead to blindness affect up to 1 out of every 500 contact lens users per year? And, let’s be honest, glasses are kind of fun.
Every couple of years (if you’re like me), the vision impaired take time to pick out the perfect glasses for their faces, their moods, and their wardrobes. Glasses are quite a personal purchase. They go on your face, for goodness sake! You also wear them every day. As much as I love my shoes, there isn’t a single pair that I wear as much as my glasses.
I thought it would be great to take a moment to share some of the groovy pieces people have picked out for themselves. I hope this inspires you in your hunt for your next pair of spectacles.
Julianne looks whimsical and smart in her blue/gray glasses. The square shape is great for her round face and the color is perfect for the cool palette she was wearing that day. They are by Justin Timberlake. Who knew?!
Josh looks smart and modern in these glasses. They are nice fit for his face shape. He got them from Selima Optique. Josh also has a pretty cool business. He invented the Mason Shaker. Christmas is coming…
Ismail is obsessed with his crisp, well-built glasses. They are made by Oliver Peoples. He won’t buy glasses anywhere else. He also says metal frames are his favorite.
I had to walk across a room of people to ask Lucy where she got her glasses. They are fresh, clean, and different. She got them at Quirk Gallery in Richmond, VA. Glasses should be sold in art galleries!
Ruthie has TWO pairs of amazing glasses. The ones pictured above are from Dolce & Gabbana. Her well laid jaw bones make the cat eye work, work, work!
The tortoise shell are Tom Ford. Unfortunately they don’t have tortoise shell matching lipstick, but she can rock that bright red to match her D&Gs.
Chaz got his glasses at JINS, a cheap glasses shop in Japan. He said he gets compliments on these two-toned glasses all the time. I found a way you can shop them at Amazon here.
I love my glasses AND I got them for free from Coastal.com. You can upload a photo of yourself and try them on online. Just have your prescription handy and a ruler to measure your face when you’re preparing to order. You can only get certain glasses for free and only for your first pair. They are having a big sale right now.
I am thinking of getting these. I had a pair of red glasses squashed by a toddler recently so I want them back!
