Essential Summer Sandals + Shoes to Buy Now
Warm weather is here. Vacations are getting on the books. Our fun spring and summer outfits are dying to be worn. It’s time to show some legs and toes, ladies! I’m a big fan of going neutral with all of my shoes, but especially my summer sandals and shoes. I like to make getting dressed carefree and having a neutral shoe collection make that more simple I can reach for a number of shoes that will all go with any brightly colored floral dress or flirty yellow skirt like the one pictured below. I also believe in comfort, because spring and summer are all about being on your feet and going on adventures. You won’t see any heels here, just wedges and flat sandals
If you’re still working on polishing off your spring and summer wardrobe, you may want to pause and think about the feet! You can invest in all sorts of fun patterns and unique silhouettes, but you can only wear those with certain colors. Having some neutral summer sandals and shoes in the mix will make your spring outfits easier to put together so you can get outside and have fun faster.
Where to Shop for Summer Shoes:
- Start with your closet: Seriously. Find out what shapes and brands you love the most. you can tell by the toe marks and knicks! Figure out which ones you never wear and go ahead and donate or sell them! Knowing what NOT to buy is also important. You can also make room for new summer shoes. Don’t bury them under other shoes you don’t want to wear. Here are a few tips for cleaning out your closet.
- My favorite stores to buy new sandals: Target, Madewell, Macy’s, Nordstrom, and Tom’s top my list of go-to places for new summer shoes. I find the best variety, most reasonable prices, and the most modern designs at these retailers. Shopping onine and in-person is also easy.
- Don’t forget second-hand shoe shopping: Not everything has to be new. As you know, I’m a big fan of shopping second-hand for many reasons. One of the non-sustainable reasons is that second-hand shops carry hard-to-find brands and items! You may find your size you can’t find anywhere else and for a deal. If you are in the Richmond, VA area, you can find my big bad list of thrift stores here.
Shop My Favorite Summer Shoes:
As you can see from the first photo, I really wear the crap out of my summer sandals and shoes. While I believe in investing in quality clothing and accessories, I don’t recommend blowing it all on your summer sandals. If you’re having a good time at the lake, dancing at concerts, and walking around town with friends, they will get worn out. Unlike boots and sneakers, the soles and stitching of your shoes are more exposed. I keep all of my summer shoes under $100 just in case disaster strikes or I simply give them too much love.
Keep scrolling to shop exact shoes I own and some duplicates for other shoes I wear regularly. A few of these are brand new like my Target Arrie Heels. They have a slight heel but are comfortable and go with just about anything from jeans to floral skirts.
