Denim Jumpsuit: How to Wear it Two Ways
For years, I’ve been writing to you beautiful people with tips and tricks related to style. One of my favorite tricks is to show you how to wear one item many different ways. I do this for a few reasons. Firstly, it’s easier on everyone’s budget. If we can invest in items like this denim jumpsuit that we are able to wear multiple ways, then we get more use out of them. That means more bang for your buck, my friends!
Secondly, when we take basic items like this denim jumpsuit and imagine it many different ways, we get to be more creative. If fashion is anything, it is an opportunity for everyone to step into their creative selves, whether you’re an accountant or a musician. There’s no reason a simple a pair of jeans or white sneakers shouldn’t ignite your creative side.
A Quick Tip on Denim Jumpsuits
Before we dive into how I styled this jumpsuit, I wanted to offer a tip on what to look for when shopping for denim jumpsuits. Because of the fabric, they run the risk of making you appear wider than you are. We don’t want any rearview mirrors here. Look for jumpsuits that have a belt, or the option for a belt, at the smallest part of your waist. If it’s a straight leg shape, make sure you can show some of your ankles to elongate your legs. You can see how I rolled mine up a bit here.

Dress it Up
If you follow me on Instagram, then you know I spent last Thursday at Flemings Steakhouse in Richmond. Steak tartare, table side chef chats, and custom wine selections were all on the agenda for the evening. I wanted to look put together without wearing cocktail attire. I reached for a classic pair of gold heels, a statement necklace and a blazer/jacket that would take this jumpsuit to a more formal level. It was still a fun option for the upscale evening, while still being a little funky for a girls night with my roommate.
Dress it Down
When I first put on this jumpsuit in the Express Factory Outlet store, I honestly would have never imagined it with sneakers like this. Fortunately for you, these Taos sneakers came in the mail the day I decided to wear it. I simply rolled up the bottom of the jumpsuit and threw on my Aimee Kestenberg bag you saw me wear at Coachella. I honestly can’t wait to wear this look again. I may throw on a baseball cap if I’m wearing it all day.
