Sometimes we overthink things. When it comes to getting dressed, I like to keep my ensembles simple. Some of my outfits are repeat combinations of the same items and themes. This is a trick I teach personal shopping clients. One of my favorites has always been a simple jacket and a dress. I am a big fan of a solid denim jacket. I misplaced mine a few months ago. I’ve been hunting for the right one, especially as we prepare for fall. One my favorite bloggers of My Style Vita was wearing this denim jacket on repeat. Finally pulled the trigger. My friend also bought it already after borrowing it for a night.

In this look, I’m pairing the denim jacket with shoes and a fun sundress from Simple Soul, a Richmond-based boutique. The owner Holly knows how to find those girly items that can be worn every day. Many of them have a little twist like the double tie on the back of this dress and the tassel on the shoes. I’m really looking forward to wearing both on repeat. The shoes were comfy for a day of walking around in DC for brunch and neutral enough to go with anything.
