It was warm (in the 50s and 60s) on Christmas Day in Virginia. My friend spent her day in the Blue Ridge Mountains in Charlottesville, Va and I spent it on Lake Anna in Louisa County and then trekked to horse country outside of Warrenton. I wanted to share these beautiful photos and outfits with you.
Vintage Fur and a White Ensemble
That beautiful coat is vintage fur from Rebecca’s grandma. She must feel so decadent.
Her skirt and cashmere turtleneck are from J. Crew. You can take the girl out of the south, but you can’t take the south out of a girl. This Brooklyn, NY transplant looks very at home in her classic lady like pieces.
Her shoes are from Tory Burch and that red lipstick is Mac.
A New Casual Red Dress
I got this adorable number at Old Navy when I went to return a sweater just before Christmas. Everything was on sale and I couldn’t remember the last time I bought a baby doll dress or anything from Old Navy. It was fun and comfortable for the three family gettogethers I took part in and the hours I spent on the road that day.
I wear the bejesus out of these boots. They are over-the-knee black suede wedges. They elevate any outfit and are totally comfortable to frolic anywhere in. I got mine during a random trip to Rack Room, but had coveted these before hand.
I had shown my mom a black vest I wanted from Banana Republic for Christmas. She couldn’t get her hands on it. It probably sold out so quickly because it was ADORABLE. She and the Banana Republic sales team picked this coat out for me. I absolutely love it. Classic with a little edge and totally cozy.
My best friend happened to give me matching red Mary Kay Lip Gloss the day before. Win.
Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and much more! Thank you for joining Sweet Sauce in 2014. It will only get better from here.
Teaser: I am throwing a big party in the mountains for New Years. You can expect a full report on that in all its glory: outfits, resolutions, and scenic views.
