Fall Textures: A Button Down Dress Look from the Office to the Street
I don’t always find myself in an office, but I do need to be prepared for more sophisticated environments with clients, sponsors and interview subjects. I want to look polished, conservative, and yet, still a little sexy when I need do. I’ve decided to invest in more dresses that can do the trick easily. The dresses need to have personality, but not too much that they can’t be transformed to fit my mood and environment with the right accessories and layers. Enter options like this button down dress.
This little number is office ready. It reminds me of a suit, with the structure and button details. The length and chest are conservative enough for any meeting. It’s not too form fitting, so there’s some mystery in my silhouette. With a sweater, blazer, collared shirt, vest, or jacket this button down dress can be turned into many, many looks. You could wear pumps, loafers, mules, or even a crips pair of booties on the bottom. Go big or go small with the jewelry, depending on the vibe you want to create.
Here, I am wearing the button down dress with a super cozy sweater and my new favorite ankle strap shoes. I also threw on some warm, funky earrings from a new favorite jewelry designer Mod & Jo, available at Mod & Soul in Richmond. You saw me wear their earrings and a layered necklace in Greece.
