“I’m not waiting until my hair turns white to become patient and wise. Nope, I’m dyeing my hair tonight.”― Jarod Kintz, This Book is Not for Sale
Tie Dye For
When I was growing up, I would visit my dad every other weekend like clockwork. I dreaded and looked forward to the long two-hour car ride to see him on Friday afternoons. One bright spot was always the potential to stop and visit the “Tie Dye Guy.” On Route 29, there is a tiny little shop of wonders. Outside, there are always clotheslines with beautiful tapestries of tie dye art in every color and racks of shirts splashed in every color combination. On my way to stay with my dad before we headed out of Dulles on our big West Coast trip (So many travel guides to come!) a little over a week ago, I pointed the shop out to my boyfriend and vowed to stop in again soon when time allowed.
As I described the shop of wonders to him, I had almost forgotten I had a gorgeous long top in my bag featuring a fun and classy twist on the tie dye I had grown to love as a child. I packed this Sweetest Stitch tunic-like top because I knew it would be the perfect layer for changing temps and scenes of of the trip. I wore it first with white jeans for our first day of flying and a day-long overlay in Denver.
These Nine West leather flats were the best pre-travel investment. I scored them during my trip to Leesburg Corner Premium Outlets. Also, can we please talk about my new Kate Spade glasses? I got them for $40!
The second time I wore the top, it was a steamy day in Seattle. We did a lot of touristy things this day including visit the Chihuly Garden and Glass Museum. I rocked it again with my new Fossil watch.
The slits in the side were fun as it allowed a peek to my legs. Excited to wear this as a bathing suit cover up! Hello white bikini!
How about this gorgeous antique necklace I found at Pike Place in Seattle?
