Sweetest Stitch and What it Means to Be Sweet

Friends will always reign as my favorite show. I always wanted to be Rachel Green when I grew up. She was funny, beautiful, boy crazy, and determined to build a good life for herself. I still like to think she’s one of my role models. Today, I also see a lot of the other characters in myself. I am dorky like Ross, strange like Chandler, neurotic like Monica, and a free spirit like Phoebe.
Just like these characters, I see myself in other women I get to interact with every day through Sweet Sauce. Despite living very different lives, I have a lot in common with the bloggers and business owners whom I take photos with, write for, solve problems with, and learn from. That’s why this Sweetest Stitch Fall campaign was such a fun project to be a part of and help organize.
It took a little creativity and a willingness to bring eight women (6 bloggers, 1 photographer, 1 videographer) together for an evening of shooting. Fizz and Frosting, According to Blaire, I Heart Vegetables, Truly Yours, A, My Closet and Hers and I all worked together, stayed positive, pinned each others dresses, borrowed shoes (Thanks, Stefanie!) and offered suggestions when needed. What you see is the incredibly fun video above and a killer set of outfits. Be sure to check out each of their blog posts. All of them go live today and everyone is wearing something a little different.
After you take a look, think about what similarities you have with the people around you. What do you have in common? A crazy family? Probably. A bad hair day? Hopefully not, but probably. A love for shoes? Definitely.
When you do find these similarities, remember them. Remember that every person deserves a piece of your attention. Everyone deserves for you to stop what you’re doing and listen when they need it. Put your own worries on hold and instead help someone else work through a problem. You might find you are a much happier person.
