I am really excited to talk about this off-the-shoulder dress. The first reason I’m excited is because I have the opportunity to tell you about the brand, Mod & Soul. A close friend recently said I HAD to read this article in RVA Magazine about her friend, Jasmina Zulic. After I read this quote, I knew I had to see what she had in store:
“I really get my inspiration from vintage fashion, and I am completely obsessed with the 70s decade…I love the vintage inspired bohemian style, and I feel that the fashion in my store will reflect this. I love jumpsuits, maxi dresses, and lots of bohemian prints… I am so excited to see how all of the style is being repeated now in 2016.”
Jasmina has been selling her bohemian chic clothes online for a year and a half. As of Sunday, April 3, 2016, she is officially open for business at her storefront in the Richmond Arts District at 323 West Broad Street! This is inspiring for the entrepreneur, the women’s empowerment cheerleader, and fashionista in me. Jasmina has designed a dreamy and modern space. It is worth a trip if you’re in the area (maybe pre happy hour at Quirk?).
I was inspired by so many things in the Mod & Soul collection. The pattern on this dress called to me. The ruffles and the cut are Spanish-inspired like many spring trends. I’d been wanting to play around with an off-the-shoulder look. I was actually scared of it! (I just added two more off-the-shoulder pieces to my closet this weekend, too. Stay tuned!)
Because it was a new trend for me, I immediately wanted to try to style it a few different ways for myself and for you, my followers. I didn’t think the cut would be so versatile, but you can see it really is. You can also catch the details of these locally sourced looks in Richmond Magazine.
