Comfortable and chic. That’s what this cropped outfit is all about. Local Richmond designer Isabel Edmonds has created a beautiful line called “Is.” Her high quality, yet affordable, pieces seem to hang just right on any body type. I would use the word fluid for many of her shirts, dresses, and cropped pants. You saw me first share pictures of her clothes in July 2015 from a fashion show to benefit RAIN (Richmond Autism Integration Network).
I picked out this silk, cropped split-back tank and cropped white pants from her collection. Both were new styles to my wardrobe. On a recent cool, but not cold, winter day, they were the perfect layering essentials for a chic laid-back look.
I paired it with a skinny scarf I had stashed away knowing it would come back in style. How about that?! The scarf helped elongate the cropped look and pull the outfit together. I’m surprised by how feminine the scarf made me feel. It is so dainty and just enough bit of coverage to make me feel a little cozier.
You’ve seen me wear these booties 500 times. I will wear them 500 more. I wear them to work, to concerts, to brunch and to the Science Museum. They are comfortable, warm, and keep me dry when it’s wet and icky outside.
This faux leather jacket has been with me for, I think, 5 years. Truthfully, it cost $9 and one of my closest friends bought the exact same one with me. My boyfriend has offered to buy me a new and real one more than once. I just can’t accept this. This guy has gotten me through Snoop Dog (Lion?), more an than one New Years, and so many other important nights. I’ve linked to one just like it below along with all the other pieces to my outfit.
